COMMUNITY
The ARK All over the world, Jews fast on Yom Kippur, but everyday some Chicagoland Jews go hungry because they simply do not have the means to purchase enough food. When you fill a grocery bag with food for The ARK, you are directly providing nourishment for our friends and neighbors facing adversity. Bags are available to fill with kosher food items and toiletries. Congregants can return them to BHBE through October 24th. These items will be delivered to The ARK and then distributed through its Food Pantry to the most vulnerable members of our community, providing kosher food for approximately 1,500 individuals every month.
The ARK is a nonprofit, community-funded social service agency with a mission to help Chicagoland Jews who are facing adversity navigate toward self-reliance. ARK professionals, volunteers and donors provide free, comprehensive services within a framework of Jewish values and laws.
The Community Mikvah of the Conservative Movement The Mikvah, at BHBE, serves all communities in greater Chicagoland and beyond. Please consider making a donation to the Community Mikvah. It is a vital resource in our community for conversions, recovery after trauma, healing after illness, and to mark joyous life cycle events.
