High Holiday Appeal
Have you heard? Many of your fellow congregants have already increased their contribution to this year's HIgh Holiday Appeal. They realize the enormous opportunity presented by the Match and have been eager to participate. This is our chance to substantially strengthen our fiscal foundation. Thanks to the generosity of a BHBE family, every dollar above last year's contribution will be matched. If you didn't participate last year, this year's gift will be doubled by the matching gift. Every contribution is of value. Now is the time to step up. Can we reach our goal of 100% participation? Of course we can!

The ARK All over the world, Jews fast on Yom Kippur, but everyday some Chicagoland Jews go hungry because they simply do not have the means to purchase enough food. When you fill a grocery bag with food for The ARK, you are directly providing nourishment for our friends and neighbors facing adversity. Bags will be available to fill with kosher food items and toiletries. Congregants will return them to BHBE from 9/9-10/24. These items will be delivered to The ARK and then distributed through its Food Pantry to the most vulnerable members of our community, which provide kosher food for approximately 1,500 individuals every month. We will have bags available, and the collection bins will be in place, starting on 9/9.
The ARK is a nonprofit, community-funded social service agency with a mission to help Chicagoland Jews who are facing adversity navigate toward self-reliance. ARK professionals, volunteers and donors provide free, comprehensive services within a framework of Jewish values and laws.
